Frequently asked questions
The registry, explained plainly.
How are professionals indexed? +
We aggregate public regulatory data published by Canadian licensing bodies — the bare facts of name, license number, regulator, and jurisdiction. Each record is a standardized archival entry. We do not purchase lists, scrape private data, or accept paid placement into the index.
Why is my profile "Standard"? +
Every record begins as a Standard Public Record. This is the archival, bare-facts state — accurate, complete, and never degraded. Standard status is not a lesser tier; it is the default statutory representation of a regulated professional.
What is the difference between Standard and Verified? +
Verified status is an editorial upgrade, not an advertising package. It adds Identity Attestation (confirmed ownership via your registry email and Stripe Identity), the Expert Insights authority module, and a premium visual identity. It never grants higher search ranking, more visibility, or any form of paid promotion.
Is this a lead-generation site? +
No. KYP is an identity ledger, not a directory. We do not sell leads, banner ads, sponsored placements, or "featured professional" slots. There are no contact or quote-request forms. Payment never influences search order or the weight of a record.
Can I be removed? +
Yes — unconditionally. Use "Request Profile Removal" on any profile. We confirm via your official registry email and then hide your record from all search results, category pages, and sitemaps. No reason is required and none will be asked.
How is verification communication handled? +
All ownership and removal communication is strictly transactional: a one-time confirmation link sent to your official registry email. We do not send marketing email as part of these flows.
