Verification standards

Verified status exists to attest one thing precisely: that the professional named on a record is the party who controls it. We treat verification as a scientific claim — reproducible, transparent, and free of any commercial influence.

1 · Registry Magic Link

Ownership is confirmed by sending a single-use confirmation link to the official email on file with the relevant regulator. Only the holder of that mailbox can complete the claim. These messages are transactional — identity confirmation only, never marketing.

2 · Stripe Identity

For elevated assurance we use Stripe Identity to validate government-issued credentials. Verification is performed by Stripe; KYP stores no sensitive identity documents locally. We retain only the binary outcome of the check.

3 · Continuous integrity

Verified status is contingent on an active attestation. Lapses are reviewed before a record reverts to its Standard state. Verification never alters search ranking — it alters depth, not position.
